This morning we took the guided tour of the Bahai gardens (you have to take one to visit the sight). They’re built into the side of Mount Carmel, and probably the most beautiful gardens in the world.
Then we took the train to Tel Aviv and went to Jaffa for the afternoon. The ... (read more →)

In Haifa we stayed at the Port Inn – fantastic location, and a super clean hotel. Yesterday we explored Akko in the morning – it’s an old city just to the north of Haifa. It is on a peninsula in the Mediterranean Sea. We saw the Mosque of al-Jazzar, which is the third largest mosque ... (read more →)

Well, we wandered around the crafts market in Tel Aviv yesterday and then stopped in Caesaria before driving up to Haifa. Caesaria was a bit of a disappointment. The location is great – the ruins are right on the ocean. But they’re a bit too ruined. And we’ve just done ... (read more →)

The landscape is magnificent. We drove down to 1300 feet (400 meters) below sea level and visited Qumran (where they ... (read more →)

Well, yesterday we were quite busy. We went to Bethlehem first thing in the morning. We took a bus to the infamous wall and then walked through and then took a cab the 2 km (mile and a half) into town because we are lazy and it’s HOT. 40 degrees (100F). ... (read more →)

The Sisters of Our Lady of Sion run a fabulous guest house in the Ecce Homo Convent. First of all, the location can’t be beat! You’re right on the Via Dolorosa! We spent our second day in Jerusalem today. We arrived Friday afternoon by bus from Tel Aviv – it takes about 45 min. We went to the Western Wall for Friday night prayers. Our hotel is right in the old city – on the Via Dolorosa – so it’s very well located. It’s ... (read more →)

Well, after 10 hours in the air to Paris we spent 7 more on the ground waiting in the new terminal at Charles De Gaulle (F&*%freezing, no food, what there was was super expensive). Finally we boarded our flight here and in 4 1/2 hours we were on the ground.
Got money no problem from ... (read more →)
