Our first stop in Vietnam was Hanoi.

Arriving into Hanoi by train from China. The old wall around the city. Our biggest complaint about Hanoi (and Saigon) was that the cities were completely overrun by motorcycles. The roads are complete chaos, and crossing them was a major event. Ngoc Son Temple is on Hoan Kiem Lake. Ngoc Son Temple is on Hoan Kiem Lake. Ngoc Son Temple is on Hoan Kiem Lake. Tortoise Tower, in the middle of Hoan Kiem Lake. Souvenir shop. Thang Long Water Puppet Theater was a fun thing to do in the evening. Here is the accompanying musicians. This is a training school/restaurant for underprivileged youth. The setting is very romantic. The service is absolutely phenomenal. We had 4 waitresses at once, who were extremely concerned with the correct placement of our silverware/cutlery. Since we're more accustomed to dining at McDonald's than fancy restaurants, it was unnecessary - but pleasant!
