After Cambodia/Angkor Wat, we returned to Vietnam to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)

We stayed at Mme. Cuc Hotel. Our room was a dizzying 7 stories up, with no elevator. At least there was a winch for the bags. Shoe shopping. Wendy had some shoes hand made for her. They measure your foot size by tracing it on a newspaper - it worked! Ben Than market. Great shopping here - lots of souvenirs - but the starting prices are absolutely ridiculous. And it would take a long time to bring them back down to earth. Whereas, the fixed price shop near our hotel in the middle of tourist-town, was reasonable to begin with! The swastika is an ancient Buddhist symbol that was corrupted. This is the entry to Giam Lac Pagoda. Giam Lac Pagoda. Giam Lac Pagoda. Photos of the deceased inside Giam Lac Pagoda People's Committee Hall Here is Wendy trying on a custom made dress. They managed to hand make it in 24 hours. Municipal Theater / Opera House People's Committe Hall Cho Binh Tay market. More of a market for locals, not for tourists. Playing badminton in a city park. Constant exercise. The view from our hotel at Madame Cuc (No. 64). It was a great hotel, with wonderful service including free breakfast and dinner (egg rolls and noodle soup).
