We went on an excursion to Rhiveli Island, at the south end of the Maldives. We took a seaplane to get there. This is an island we saw from the plane.

This is Male International Airport. It's on its own island.

The islands come from old volcanos.

For lunch, we walked out to this island for a barbecue. The advertised knee-deep water ended up being considerably higher.

We visited another island to go shopping. This was the transportation: all the GM's piled into the bed of this pickup truck.

Locals playing soccer. We were very impressed with how clean the town was and how friendly everyone was.

The shopping is a slightly less than authentic Maldivian experience. However, we did buy many nice sarongs.

There was a prison on this island. Here is their boat.

This is a picture of the inhabited island that is right beside Kani. We also went on another excursion there, where we got shown around the island and had time to go shopping in the tourist shops. Unfortunately, the photos got taped over!
