>> Corcovado Wildlife Hike
Our last stop was in Corcovado, which is a huge park right at the south of the country next to Panama. We had to wander a couple of kilometers along a deserted beach to get to the beginning of our hike.
During this hike we spotted every species of monkey that is found in Costa Rica.
The macaws were everywhere - brilliant shots of color in the treetops.
Who knew bananas started out life so pretty?
Cooling off at a waterfall that we hiked in to.
Our guide cracked open some cocunuts for us. It doesnt get much fresher than this...
We saw a coati hiding in the trees.
Unfortunately, we didn't buy the 28-300 zoom lens till the next trip.
We saw a few toucans hiding in the canopy.
We stayed in Puerto Jimenez, a very cute small town that is a jumping off point for treks into the park. We really enjoyed the feel of this town - we were finally away from the ever-present McDonalds and Quality Inn's.
