Red Fort, or Delhi Fort, or Lal Qil'ah, Delhi, India

The Red Fort was the highlight of our visit to Old Delhi.

The Red Fort, or Lal Qila, was built when Mughal emperor Shah Jagan moved the capital from Agra to Delhi in 1639.  This is the Lahore Gate, so named because it faces Lahore (Pakistan) .

The Diwan-I-Am is the Hall of Public Audiences.  The emperor would sit here to hear complaints from his subjects.
