>> Hanga Roa Hotel and Moai
Isla de Pascua = Easter Island.
Arrival in Easter Island.
Easter Island is 'owned by' Chile. Welcome to Mataveri Airport.
Sign at the airport showing the distance to the closest inhabited places: Santiago, Chile at 2,040 miles, and Tahiti - 2,300 miles.
We stayed at the Mana Nui Inn. The ladies who run it (mom and daughter) where awesome. They took great care of us, and the room was really clean and comfortable. The shower had great hot water, and the views are fantastic.
Clean, and great hot water!
Part of the view from our hotel at Mana Nui Inn. Look just to the right of the roof of the building. See the four things standing up? They're moai. (The statues you're there to see).
Our hotel, the Mana Nui Inn.
The coast outside our hotel.
Distances to the closest land. It's really in the middle of nowhere.
A modern moai. They get created during yearly contests.

On our way over from Tahiti, LAN Chile puts security tags on their blankets. I guess it was really affecting their business.
