The Alhambra was the palace and fortress of the Moorish monarchs of Granada.

The Alhambra was the palace and fortress of the Moorish monarchs of Granada. Here is a view looking over Granada, from one of the buildings. It is impossible to accurately capture the Moorish architecture. It was unlike any other buildings we'd seen. A view over the city. The Palacio de Carlos V. Part of the old Alcazar was demolished to make way for this Renaissance building, which doesn't exactly fit in, but cool nonetheless. And we really had to wait to get a people-free shot... so please enjoy. Close to the entrance of the site. The Jardines del Partal lie just outside the east wall of the Alcazar. The plasterwork was incredibly detailed, and everywhere. Every nook, every cranny is filled with such detail. Inside the Alcazar, there is no chance of getting a people-free shot! From the Alcazaba, we climbed the Torre de la Vela for a great 360 degree view. Here is a shot of the Torre de la vela. Back in Granada, we visited the Cathedral, built from 1523 to 1704 by Fernando and Isabel. There will be a quiz later, so pay attention. The Capilla Real, Fernando and Isabel's private chapel. Or it might be just some random church. We forgot. Just outside the cathedral. This is the old Arab quarter where the Moors built their first fortress. This is the Plaza Nueva. On the train from Granada to Seville.
