4)Temple of Karnak, Egypt – Sure there are the pyramids, but for awe inspiring grandeur you can’t beat the Temple of Karnak.  For a real treat ignore how cheesy it sounds and go for the sound and light show.  Walking through the enormous pillars cloaked in darkness you’ll feel the awe the Pharaohs meant to inspire.

3)Chichen Itza, Mexico – Rising out of the Yucatan Jungle is the giant pyramid of Chichen Itza.  As you climb yet more very steep, narrow stairs you wish you’d spent more time on the Stairmaster.  But never mind your burning legs – the view would have made them tremble anyways!
