Just 3 hours outside of Beijing, we visited the Bataling section of the Great Wall of China.

Tianamen Square is a large, concrete, pedestrian square where student protests took place in 1989.		 Temple of Heaven, Beijing, China 
The Temple of Heaven is beautiful park and temple in the middle of Beijing. It is a welcomed escape from the traffic and noise outside it's walls.
Summer Palace, Beijing, China 
Just on the outskirts of Beijing, the Summer Palace is a beautiful place to explore for a day. 		Yonghe Lamasery, Beijing, China 
We visited the lama temple at the Yonghe Lamasery.

Trip Journal

We spent a couple days exploring Beijing by ourselves, and had a great time. There was lots to do, and people were very kind to us.
