  • About Us
  • Winetasting along the Mosel Valley
The Mosel Valley is surprisingly undeveloped, and in September, almost empty. We met several winemakers, and enjoyed some great Rieslings and Gewurtzaminers.
  • Rothenberg ob der Tauber
The well-preserved medieval town was beautiuful at every turn, and exploring the old walls was a highlight.
  • Neuschwanstein Castle
Every bit of picturesque as we'd hoped it would be, our kids loved the castle as much as we did. Simply stunning and worth braving the crowds.
  • Munich
Munich was a real surprise - beautiful architecture, parks everywhere, and very modern and clean. The airport is great, too!
  • Tropical Islands, Berlin
Tropical Islands is the worlds largest indoor water park. Stay tuned for photos!

We’ve been to Germany many times, as there are great connections to our gateway city of San Francisco.  Munich stands out as our favourite big city, but we’ve had a great time exploring some of the smaller towns as well.

We  booked our first 3 nights on our trip at the Hotel Amba in Munich.  We had hoped that with a late August arrival in Munich, we wouldn’t have to be too worried about finding a room a month in advance – but we were very wrong.  …

So, we’ve been planning.  For hours.  Days.  Weeks, actually.  It seems ridiculous.  We can’t remember it ever being this hard to figure out our route before.  After FIFTY-FOUR countries, you’d think we’d have this down…but apparently not.  …
