Our hotel room - you could just about touch both walls at the same time!
The first thing we checked out in the morning was the Yuen Po Street Bird Garden, which replaced the old Bird Street Market. You see lots of men taking their caged birds for walks.
Birds for sale.
We bought a birdcage, and mailed it home from the fabulously well-organized main post office.
Next stop - Flower Market Road.
Lotus flower - very important for Buddhists.
Fa Yuen Street Market. Lots of fruit and vegetables, and also knock off "brand names" clothing.
Wide, organized streets. It was the same all over China.
This is just PART of the multi-level, waterfall sporting ENORMOUS PUBLIC pool in Kowloon Park. Right off the main drag - Nathan Road. Unreal. Entry is $2US. We really really wished we'd had time to go for a dip!
Tai Chi in Kowloon Park.
Just some of the different things on offer in the PUBLIC park. Wow. There's also a maze, and a soccer pitch.
Hong Kong's version of the Hollywood Stars - the Avenue of Stars - built out over the harbour.
Look how happy I look to be having my picture taken... Jackie Chan doesn't have very big hands!
Irony...
A view of the skyline from the Avenue of the Stars - they have a laser light show every night at 8:00.
A night view of one of the streets.
The next morning we took the Star Ferry over to Hong Kong Island.
Man playing a traditional instrument in the subway on the way to the tram.
Going up to Victoria Peak.
The view from the top.
The Central Mid-Level Escalators. The longest covered escalator in the world.
The old and the new.
When we were done, we took the tram over to Victoria Park.
The view.
Wendy trying desperately to hold on. Parks in Hong Kong and also the rest of China have this awesome playground equipment - for ADULTS! The guy sitting on the bench behind us was trying SO hard not to giggle as we fooled around with all of it.
Ian gives it a go.
More fun! Who needs a gym membership?
Children's lounge, in the airport, on the way to Beijing.
