30 minutes outside of Copenhagen by train, Roskilde is home to the country's first Christian church built in 980. 39 Danish monarchs are buried here. This is the Radhus in Copenhagen (city hall). This is a view of the dome of the Marmokirken (Marble Church). It was built in the 19th century. This is a view of the front of the church. While in Copenhagen, we also visited the Christansborg Castle, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, Tivoli, the Frihedsmuseet (resistance museum), the Amalienborg Palace, the Little Mermaid, and the National Museum. Apparently, Ian was not in the mood to take a picture of any of them. Photos will follow our return to California. From Copenhagen we headed south to the island of Aero, and the town of Aeroskobing. The Let's Go says that 'Thanks to economic stagnation followed by conservation efforts, Aeroskobing appears today almost as it did 200 years ago.' This is the most photographed house in Denmark. It's not the angle of the house, it really is slanted. As you can see, we really enjoyed Aeroskobing and it was very photogenic. Apparently it inspired Ian to remember we had purchased a digital camcorder, with the intent of putting pictures on the web. A Danish bee. We liked this one. We didn't like the 40 or 50 wasps swarming around the pastries in the bakery we tried. Apparently, the woman who works there doesn't mind them. See Dad? We're biking in Fyn! (Wendy's father told us we had to go so we did. Or at least we came very close. Aero is actually a small island off the south coast of Fyn).
