Sbragia Family Vineyards

From Dutcher Crossing we headed to Sbragia Family Vineyards.  Their tasting room has a beautiful patio overlooking the vineyards.  They have a lot of different items for sale and like Dutcher Crossing it definitely has a more “upscale store” feel to it rather than “small family winery” feel.  Nevertheless we enjoyed it.  They charge $10 for a reserve tasting and $5 for the regular.  It’s half off with a Visa Signature card! :)

We chose to do the reserve tasting.  Again, our tasting notes for what they’re worth:

La Promessa Zinfandel – not a clean finish, smoky

Andolsen Cabernet – complex, very good

Monte Russo Cabernet – fruity, easy, light spice, but the finish wasn’t clean

Rancho del Oso Cabernet – $75! Clean finish, simple.  Grapes come from a Napa vineyard.

Cimarossa Cabernet – $75, again!  The finish wasn’t as clean as we’d like.  Smoky.  Also made from grapes grown in Napa.

Wall Cabernet – The third $75 wine we tasted.  Nice finish, complex, excellent!  This is also from a Napa vineyard.

There are lots of tables out on the concrete patio about half of which is covered – so there’s plenty of shade available.  Again, the feeling is more “upscale” and not “small family vineyard”.  Still – it’s a lovely place to wile away another beautiful afternoon in Sonoma County Wine Country!
