Breakfast wasn’t too expensive, we ordered the night before and told Ma Bass what we wanted – eggs, toast, juice, and bacon ran about $10 US per person. The room was very clean and spacious. The hot water was not great – when the guesthouse was full we didn’t have any hot water, morning or night. Ma Bass told us she needed to buy another hot water heater, and set us up with a bucket of hot water which helped take the edge off – but paying $60 US a night with no hot water was irritating. On our final nights, when it emptied out a little and the strain on the solar hot water heater was less, we had lots of hot water.
There is a common kitchen, and lots of friendly other backpackers, yachties, and pilots we had good conversations with. Our room, on the top story, was spacious, clean, and had some nice views of the town.
