Right underneath the old central square is the Rynek Główny Rynek Underground museum. Although originally designed to showcase some of the ruins of Old Krakow found underneath the main square, it became much more than that. There are elaborate dioramas that show what life in medieval times was like – complete with a burning village. There are a lot of interactive multimedia displays (although sometimes it felt a bit gratuitous – technology for the sake of technology) for the kids to enjoy. There are hands on exhibits, and way to look at people’s feet in the water fountain above.
