Food Alley

Food Alley, Auckland
Food Alley, Auckland
Food Alley is a collection of small take-out/take-away restaurants all located under the same roof.  There are lots of different types of ethnic food represented.  There is everything from Thai to Turkish.  There is shared seating for all the restaurants.

We chose Taste of Turkish for dinner.  Ian had the Chicken Iskendor with hot sauce.  He found the meat wasn’t good and it was very spicy (and this is coming from the guy who doses his pizza with hot sauce).

Wendy had the falafel.  It was terrible, which is pretty amazing because falafel is usually at least passable.  This tasted like cardboard and just fell apart.  It was served with rice which was oddly quite good and a salad that was at least 90% iceberg lettuce.

We got some “fresh” orange juice at the place right next to Taste of Turkish.  It was watery and tasteless.  All in all, Food Alley was quick and cheap, but not what we were hoping for.  It was really crowded when we were there but based on our experience there we’re really not sure why.
