Balaton Crepes
Balaton Crepes
On our last morning in New Zealand we rode the Queenstown gondola up to some spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.  After our visit, we stopped in at Balaton Crepes for a quick lunch before heading to the airport.  This funky little outdoor crepe place was right on the way, so it was hard to beat the convenience!

They have shaded picnic tables or cushy lazy chairs to choose from.  The set-up may be on the “college dorm” side, but the views are fabulous, none-the-less.

Ian had a cappuccino and Wendy had a mochachino, each $3NZD.  Neither was very good, sadly.  The cappuccino was more like a latte and the mochachino was mostly milk and pretty tasteless.

Wendy had the Chocolate Mud crepe, $6NZD (yes, this was lunch…).  Despite the promising name it was just OK.  Ian ordered the Big Lebowski, which was a crepe with pepperoni, ham, cheese and salami for $9NZD.  Not surprisingly, it was a little too salty but good and very filling!
