Lodging in Queenstown is apparently often difficult, with hotels filling up weeks in advance, even off-peak. We had reserved the Lomond Lodge before we

arrived in New Zealand. It was not cheap, at 159 NZD per night. There was very limited parking in front of the hotel, and we were lucky to always find a spot – we head other people complaining that they had to find  street parking, often a walk up a hill away from the hotel.

We had a very nice room at the front of the building, although it was a couple floors to walk up at the back of the house with no elevator. There was a small balcony, but not large enough to be able to sit outside. We had a very nice view of the lake, and the room

was quiet. It was about a 5 minute walk to downtown restaurants, and another 5 minute walk up to the cable car. There were shared cooking facilities down the hall that seemed very clean. There was laundry facilities available, and an outdoor area to dry your clothes.

The hotel apparently had wifi, but it was pretty spotty and not that cheap.
