>> Andong, South Korea
We enjoyed the city of Andong. There is lots of great shopping, the market was interesting, and the city was very alive at night.
The Great Italy Outdoors a Fine Article, indeed!
We were a little bit tired of Korean food, so we were happy to find this nice Italian restaurant called "Lavender" right downtown.
Inside of Lavender Restaurant.
There is a temple in the downtown area.
We enjoyed the pedestrian street. There are lots of Western chains here - Baskin Robbins, 7 11, etc. We even wandered inside a Pizza Hut, but ran out when we saw it was $30 for the cheapest pizza.
Vendors had set up in the pedestrian street selling food.
Wendy got some great ''Engrish' shirts.
Koreans love French bakeries (we never figured out why!) and this was one of our favourites, Mammoth Bakery.
There is also a cafe attached to the bakery, with lots of Koreans eating flavoured shaved ice.
Hotel California! You can never leave...
The main covered market is called the Andong Gu Market

Lots of fresh seafood.
Leaving Andong in the morning, the bridge was covered with fog.
This was the closest we saw to graffiti in Korea - a beautiful wall mural on the side of an elevated road.
